News & Updates

Weight Log Updates
We've just launched a new updated to the weight log. With the new update, both personal trainers and clients the ability to track body fat percentage.

Many clients are interested in viewing their progression in terms of more than just weight lost.

When clients log into their accounts they are now able to view their complete weight log, body fat percentage and BMI history as well.
New Fitness Program Features
We've launched some new enhancements to the fitness program and exercise management features.

Two new fields have been added to the exercise management area for video and image link. Using these two fields, your clients can view a photo or video of the exercises assigned to them in their fitness programs.

Your clients can now "read" and "see" what they should be doing with each exercise in their fitness program. And because you're linking to your own exercise photo and videos, they're seeing YOU doing the exercise.
Update - Session Packages and Reporting

We're writing to let everyone know that we've released a new feature (and judging by the number of requests we got) it's going to be a big hit.:

Session Packages and Package Reporting

Most personal trainers sell their services in a package, whether it's 10, 20 or 50 sessions. Now you can create your own session packages with unique pricing and manage everything within SaraciseLink.

Why Is This So Great?
Keeping track of how many sessions a client has left is one of the most difficult things to do. Especially when clients can, reschedule or use up an unexpected training session. In the end, you want to know just when you need to bill that client again.

With the reporting features we've added, you can search and print out reports on how many packages you've sold and who is buying. Better yet, you can even find out how many sessions are still "outstanding".

By helping you keep better track of the packages you sell and how they're used, you can reduce any billing headaches and ensure that you get paid for each session you conduct. Well, unless, you like working for free.

How Do You Get There?
To create and customize your session packages, log into your SaraciseLink account and go to "Options", then click on "Session Packages". From there you can create and define the session packages that members can purchase. To assign a package to a member, go to a clients details screen and click on the last option under "Information & Options" for "Session Packages". From this area, you can review any packages that this client has purchased in the past and review how many sessions are outstanding.

More upgrades and feature enhancements coming soon!

Update - Custom Exercise Equipment

We just released another great feature for SaraciseLink: custom exercise equipment for fitness programs and member accounts.

Now you will be able to add your own custom equipment options to your SaraciseLink account and assign those items to client workouts and fitness programs.

Why Is This So Great?
By adding a more customized listing of equipment, you’ll be able to better define exactly what you want your clients to do in the fitness programs you create. We know that a lot of you use specialized equipment that many of your colleagues don’t use – by utilizing and defining specific equipment within SaraciseLink, you’re workouts are going to be that much more powerful and targeted to your clients.

How Do You Get There?
When you log into your account, click on “Options” then on “Exercise Equipment” – the fifth option listed. You’ll see the listing of default equipment. Once on this screen, click on the “Create Equipment” to append a new type of equipment to your listing.

Stay tuned, more features and updates coming soon!

Update - Custom Assessment Forms

Custom assessment forms are now available for trainers using SaraciseLink!

In discussing what information trainers collect as standards and indicators by which to judge results and effectiveness, we found that most trainers have their own measurements and assessment items that they prefer to take with each client. In other words, most trainers prefer to use their own custom assessment forms.

Now, with SaraciseLink, trainers are able to create and define their own custom assessment forms. These assessment forms can have any number of fields and can be created by administrators through their accounts. All assessment form results is entered online and can be stored with each client. The results are even available in printer friendly format so that trainers can easily "print and take" the information to the next client sessions.

One of the best features is the ability to date each set of assessment form results so that progress can be easily tracked over time.

We're pretty excited that this is going to help trainers use SaraciseLink to deliver more valuable results-driven information and advice to their clients.

Update - Advanced Scheduling

Thanks to some really great feedback from our clients, we are happy to announced that we have launched a more enhanced version of our scheduling system.

Scheduling
Users can now set up client sessions by month, week and day in our new redesigned scheduling layouts. Within the scheduling screens, administrators are able to view scheduled sessions, availability of other trainers and available time. In addition, trainers can schedule training sessions directly from the weekly and daily calendar screens.

Availability
Personal trainers and company administrators are now able to define their availability for each day of the week. The new availability options and information allow other trainers to more easily collaborate on scheduling within their company.

New Feature - E-Mail Reminders

Our latest update to the software is a small one, but we think it's going to make a big impact.

When you are scheduling client sessions, you now have the option to enable an e-mail reminder to automatically be sent to your client a few days before the sessions. It's a friendly way of reminding your client of the appointment. Allowing clients to forget about their appointments is a big waste of time and energy.

The e-mails are sent out automatically which means that once a session is scheduled, you don't need to do anything else.

Update: HTML Newsletter Editor

New WYSIWYG editor available!
Should be a significant improvement for newsletter publishing and maintenance for all users.

We were never really happy with the WYSIWYG editor that we've been using for the Newsletters.

The majority of our issues with the editor had to do with the speed and load time of the window. So, last week, we began researching new options and implemented a new solution that we think our users will be extremely pleased with. The three most important feature enhancements:

Loading Speed
You'll definitely notice the faster speed with which this editor loads in comparison to our older version.

Image Upload Manager
Easier to use and faster at handling image uploads.

No Script Install
The script does not require any installation your personal computer and is much more compatible with the various operating systems.

If you're creating a newletter in the next couple days, be sure to let us know what you think of the new editor.

Upgrade – Fitness Program Builder

We are happy to announce that one of the most requested features has been launched – the online fitness program builder is now live! We’re extremely excited to have everyone begin using the program and we’re also extremely thankful to all those who offered tremendous ideas and feedback! Thanks!!

Using the fitness program feature, users are now able to create and define fitness programs for clients.  Fitness programs can include a variety of different kinds of information including cardiovascular, resistance and stretching exercises. Different activities falling into each of those categories can be applied to the fitness program. After applying an activity, you can then define specific activity and exercise levels including sets, reps and any write any other miscellaneous notes for that item.

In addition, you also have the option to define nutritional guidelines, goals and notes for each program. From the fitness program details screen, users may also choose to print the program in printer friendly format and hand deliver it to clients. We’ve found that having the printer friendly option is particularly useful if a client is working with clients who are not likely to access their personal online account.

When logging into their accounts, your clients are able to apply those fitness programs to their exercise logs and fill out any activity from the day. We’ve also made available a printer friendly version of the page so that users can easily print out the fitness program and take it with them to the gym.

Updates: Improved Interface

We’ve been busily working away on a number of enhancements to SaracisePlus behind the scenes, improvements that you’re probably not likely to notice. These improvements should boost the speed and performance of the software and overall operation. So, we’re happy to roll them out. Let us know if you notice the changes.

Most importantly, we’ve been working out our creative side and making some graphical tweaks and changes to the interface of the personal training software. These are changes that you should notice! We’ve been implementing a new set of icons on the dashboard pages of the major sections (Newsletters, Members, Options, Reports and Help).

As well as changes to the icons, we’ve been updating the layout and text of those pages to make them more user-friendly.

We’ll be posting pictures and screenshots shortly to give everyone a sneak-peak before they go live!
